Starting an affiliate website?
HELLO ALL...
Quick question for everyone! I am going to be starting an affiliate website through commission junction. My question is how on earth can I build an affiliate website without any access to the product images? The company who I am doing the affiliate through is very clear about not using their images, yet at the same time comission junction won't accept my application until the website has been built. What do you do in this situation? As well - how does one get in touch with comission junction when they have no email addys on their site? Thanks CBR

Ditto... or make your own. I have an affiliate site that I was starting to worry was getting too popular. It ranked 2nd only to the company for their own company name. And was a professional looking site. Finally I was contacted by them basically saying the site was "too good looking" and that people were confused that they were not on their site because it didn't look like your normal spamish affiliate site.
But I was smart in that I didn't use any of the supplied content or graphics... everything was completely original content (including graphics), so there really wasn't a whole lot they could do about it (from a legal standpoint). So now I'm a big fan of making your own original content always. They have more control over you if you use what they give you. - Shawn

You can manage multiple websites under one CJ ID#. I'm not sure whether each site must be approved by CJ but could you register for CJ using your existing site then place the ads on the new site?

I think it's more for reporting purposes... I put ads from my primary site (as registered with CJ) on all my sites.

I got to agree with Shawn I have done a few affiliate websites and I always write original content. You learn something about the product and you find the content maybe better like in Shawn's case.

Personally, I would contact the company directly that you want to promote for. They may have an affiliate manager you can speak with who can provide you with some useful content and images. You may also want to ask if they have a private program. If they do, they might be able to offer you higher commission rates since they do not have to pay 30% to commission junction.
