Newbie to this whole world

Hi I a very new to this whole world of Affiliates, Seo and whatever tersm I have come across in my research. I dont even know where to begin becuase It is a bit overwhelming. I have started with 3 google adwords campaigns but I can tell you now that they wont be bringing in anything. My friend claims that he made $200 in 3 days, but I am not into this to make a whole ton of money and retire before I am 30. I would like to learn about the business and the in's and out's and just become a master at this. I have no website becuase I was never motivated to create one. I know alot about the web and website design but have never put it to use. I even attempted to put an affiliate site up 4 years ago but quickly scrapped it. Anyway I am new any help would be appreciated.

Starting Out

I've only recently started in this area too, I started with a few adwords and have now created a webiste with some content and adsense.

I'm also trying some of the affiliate sites like CJ, just to see how it works for me. The rest of the time I read forums to get a feel for how other people are doing.

The best one out there. I was an active poster before I got out of affiliate marketing and entered the SEO world.

jdeeze and ianpurton,

Affiliate marketing is very hard to get started with and overwhelming to learn, but if you devote the time and energy it can be very rewarding. Too many thinks it's get rich quick, throw up a couple banners and then give up when that fails.

Since fryman posted a link to another forum I guess it's OK.

This is one of the best threads I have seen for getting started with affiliate marketing. it's 2 pages long and just jam-packed with tips, tools and resources. It's from my affiliate forum over at WebProWorld and if you study everything suggested in this one thread it will get you off to a really good start!

Hope this helps and Best of Luck!
