Thumbs up New Adsense Ads!

Hi,

What do all of you guys think of the new adsense ads?

I prefer the larger skyscrapper one as it looks alot better on my site to what the other smaller skyscrapper ad did.

I love the ability to change colors. I have a skyscraper running with the color of the site and it almost looks like it's normal content.

You can make lots of money with adsense - if you have traffic... and if your site is about a topic of commercial interest the clicks can be juicy.

yes, i know someone who does very well with adsense. first, it depends on whether or not you get a good amount of traffic to your site. then it's about what market your site targets and how much the keywords for that market go for.

yes and no

My personal experience has been that YES you can make money with AdSense, a decent amount of money in fact (if you have ads are in a gene that people would click into); however, when compared to an affiliate program that pays well, AdSense isn't so great.

A little example from my experience (In the adult space)

At an average of $0.6 per click
1000 Clicks x $0.06 = $60

When compared to an affiliate program that pays you say 50% of a $30 signup. This type of clearly quality traffic would convert at say 1:200 that would be $75 plus any reoccuring revenue. (Keeping in mind the average user stays a member for 5 months)

So, the moral of the store is, if your promoting adult sites. definately pass on adsense.

You can't put adsense on adult sites anyway - against the TOS.

I just singed up for an adsense account the other day and threw it up on one of our sites in the 2up skyscraper format, colormatched to our site. On 5 pages, it is making an average of $4 a day. Hey, its better than a sharp stick in the eye.

It seems google approves many many many mixed content sites; eg: http://www.bomis.com/

just because a site has adsense on it, doesn't mean google approved the site. if google finds a site that doesn't meet the tos, it will boot it

Google will not pay you anything if they found out that you run adsense on porn sites.

I seem to have best results with the larger adsense ads and when the color of the ad sharply contrasts to the color of my site.

I had an amazing thing happen tonight - probably a coincidence - but possibly not. I turned on the ability to show both text and images. As far as I can tell from my computer, only text ads are still being shown. Haven't yet seen an image ad show up. Now, this month has been a TERRIBLE month for me. My adsense went way way way down to almost nothing. Yet within 1 hour of turning on the "image ad" thing - BAM! All of a sudden, my numbers are right back to where they used to be! I hope it continues....

Me personally - not,
but I heard that Google can just switch your account off without any explanations

Did you hear about it?
