I use Kontera on one of my sites. Though the CPM is not comparable to Adsense, it is a good additional revenue stream.
As far as I've seen, they are very prompt in replying to emails & technical issues. Am not sure about their promptness in payments. Will take another month to see that.
About Adsense and Kontera together, Yes. You can have both of them on the same page. I've checked this by writing to adsense. It makes sense for you also to get an email confirmation and keep it for any future use.
