Is it possible to make a living online anymore?

It just seems like every idea is taken and every area online is oversaturated with people trying the same thing. Face it. If it was easy to make money online everyone would do it? Has the time come and gone to even try an online profession? Seems like those who got involved with websites 3-5 years ago are the lucky ones.

Hi,

I disagree. Even today you can be lucky.

I agree that it is getting competitive day by day but if have something really useful for people, you can be successful even today.

Nothing is achieved the easy way. If you want to make money in an ethical way, you have to work hard for it.

I disagree totally that online area is oversaturated. Saturation means the maximum level that can be achieved in a given circumstance. So if your statement has to be valid then you'd have to provide the total size of the World Wide Web and the amount that has already been covered, as it's impossible to judge or measure the total capacity of WWW, it cannot be concluded that it is saturated.

This is the era of DOT COM BOOM. Most of the businesses that were till a few months back offline are going the online way. Even markets such as in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are having a big online presence now. This is the time to get into it and make a decent living, if not great living.

People who say such things are not only unsuccessful in their life but also LAZY. They find the easy way out. Quoting what David.J Schwartz said in his book the Magic Of Thinking Big "People who say things cannot be done, are highly unsuccessful people or mediocre at the best. Opinions of such persons can be poison"

If it's not possible to make a living on the web now, then what do u think we people are doing here. Sorry web marketing is not a pastime game for us, but a full time or a part-time profession.

You have massive support at your disposal, experienced players are dishing out their advice for FREE in so many forums. If you can't make a living now...you can never make it in the future. Not only online but nowhere.

Good Luck

YouTube is but 2 years old... that's a 30 billion dollar "less than 3 years ago"... while the value is obviously an exception to the rule the idea isn't

Yes it is Possible

I think it is possible but not that easy as it seems.

For me I am making 100$+ from adsense alone everyday and that was my target 6 months ago when I started a Free Mobile downloads site.

I am expanding it day by day and now I have hired few guys in Inida to keep sites updated.

Bottomline is that its not that easy but it is possible

Running a site is like running a business. The people who try to get rich quick typically fail, the people who know the long run is a hard trip and expect to not make money right off the bat succeed.

With only about 14 percent of world's population over age 15 online and E-commerce transactions in 2006 was estimated at about $198 billion and projected to be about $316 billion in 2010. That is about a 35% increase over the 4 years. As more people become conected and more confident it will increase even further.

I understand what you are saying. I was involved in wholesale prepaid phonecards (not online) in the beginning. It just grew and grew from 1994 to 2001, then straight down. The overall phone minutes were the same, but with lower rates, more competition and much lower margins.

However, the online phonecard sales still were good. On my second try I built a successful online phonecard business in the midst of a ton of competition. It launched in 2004 (which was pretty late). We have over 30,000 customers now.

The same with another site of mine, a coupon site launched in 2005. Now has over 10,000 customers.

Both sites were launched in the midst of a ton of competition and made it. There are reasons for their success and some of it is "luck".

The nice thing about the web is now you can try new ideas for relatively cheap. You don't have to be first with an idea. However, you have to be great. Your site has to be great or offer something noteworthy. Just putting up a poor site, bad name -- isn't enough. In the past, yes, a few got lucky by just launching an vbulletin forum and even bad name (ie. slickdeals.net, .net?? come on) and made it big.

Anyway, YOU CAN DO IT.

Look at AuctionAds. It's only 4 months old and had 25,000 affiliates. Jeremy just sold it for who knows how much!

You don't always have to come up with an unique idea. Sometimes you just need to do something better than everyone esle. I'd suggest starting with something you love doing and grow from there.

The possibilities are endless...

Hi there!

The possbilities of earning online are endless. All you need is a solid idea and the passion to back it up

You can make your own website or even just a blog. Get a lot of traffic into it and then monetize it thru a number of ways : PPC, Ad placements, sponsorships, etc.

A lot of big earners on the net started out with simple ideas and pu their heart into it and eventually made it big

Yes, money can definitely be made. The only downside to starting a site now is that there is more competition compared to what there use to be.

Lets look at the upsides of todays Internet compared to early years.
  • Online Marketing has been improved and has a older history now making it more accurate and documented
  • There is more online marketing strategies or avenues available.
  • World wide the Internet is still growing and the largest part of it is not only based in the US only. The business opportunities are so much more.

Just for kicks I want to add this one.

Less lazy people can make it online
