How to approach companies about banner advertising?
Sorry if this post is in the wrong group.
I run a niche market website. It is very targeted to this niche group of people. I'm currently getting 5000-6200 unique visitors/month and 300,000+ pages views/month. How do I approach companies about banner advertisering? I know some of them advertise on sites similar to mine. Does anyone have a form email they send out that they would like to share. Or, is this better handled with a telephone call to the companies? Any advice would be appreciated. |

This is referred to as "media buy" and don't be bashful about approaching those companies that offer it on their websites. Usually a phone call is best. You can then discuss the specifics of rotations, size, etc. Ask for a pricing sheet, if they have one. Be sure you are buying media on a valuable site. Ask them about visitor stats, demographics and such. Makes a difference.

One easy method is to place Adsense on your site. Saves you lots of time and work. Just put it up and collect the checks.

I have adsense on the site but since many pages are dynamic it only has valid ads about 50% of the time.
Lets just say in a months time, its about enough cash to buy lunch at chilis. Not quite what I had in mind for income. Thanks for any further advice |

Chilis, okay that's a definite problem
How about joining a program like ShareaSale, WebSponsors, AdReporting, or Affiliate Fuel? Use programs that are similar to what Adsense displays on your site. ![]() |

I'm not sure how many web masters would agree, but I'd say that the growing trend indicates that pay for placement is just about dead. Your best bet would be to go after sites willing to pay on a ppc level or a cpm level. Even then, I'm not too sure how many companies would go for that. The new movement is towards pay for performance also known as pay per action, pay per lead, sometimes pay per click. I would recommend figuring our who your audience is on your site and researching companies that run pay per lead affiliate programs who target the same people you site targets. I think you'll find them easier to work with and the income much higher.

I do agree with you Karen. I was just trying to give cgchris99 an easy solution to what he wanted to do. I prefer paid per action or lead too.

Go through Google................
Hello Friend,
DO one thing go through the google, go for banner related keywords and then you can get in the nested banner partners and get the more information. |

like Fastclick or Tribalfusion. Most of them only require 5000 page views a month. They pay per click or per impression. I just did a search for advertising agencies or something like that. Just an idea.
