Oh no thats HORRIBLE. I worked with this company through a 3rd party when they 1st launched the affiliate program and always thought they were high integrity. They paid out huge amounts of commission each month on time for a long time.
Someone else on this board complained about non payment awhile back and at that time I really assumed it was a mix up. This program was so successful, I can't imagine what went wrong.
I feel so bad for you, but not sure what to do. I don't know the owner personally or I would call him. Maybe small claims court???

Unfortunately they are the same company. Jon Carder (I think thats the right spelling) owns both companies.
There's a thread with lots of info and phone numbers over at ABW where Jon says payment problems were an opps and would be corrected. It was a few months back. I Googled trying to find it but could not. I don't post there any more or have an account so you will need to sign up and use the internal search feature to find it.
ALSO just remembered a guy posted on my forum awhile back that started an affiliate collection agency and has done pretty well for people in your situation. Can't remember his name - need to go search. But his site was something like affiliatecollectionagency.

Response
Hello,
My name is Jon carder and I was the president of client shop / 4lowrates.com (clientshop was acquired in February 2006). I just found this post on Google and wanted to offer my apologies for the inconvenience caused by the late payment. I remember having a problem with CJ right around the time of your post where they had a mix-up in the accounting department and they withheld payment to affiliates. We were able to resolve the issue with them and so you should have been fully paid along with all affiliates. I'm not sure about your statement that someone hung up on you. That is not typical of our staff but I again apologize for that. Thank you for supporting us by becoming an affiliate and I wish you success with your business.

Funny how this goes
So this is a funny post everybody - think about it - it took this guy almost 2 years to get back to the forum. Well, I did a little bit research on this guy. First of all it seems that you guys were right that they did not pay the bills to affiliates as they were losing money - that is why the business was sold at amounts that are overstated in their commercial press releases.
The more interesting piece comes into play why he suddenly decides to post an apologetic reply to the post. The reason I came up with is clearly that he is trying to clean his track record as he is looking to raise capital for his 3rd money losing venture. I guess his PR girl told him to do a counterpost as this thread comes up when you google his name. He did one single post and that's it. Long live the transparency of the Internet.
And indeed - based on my inside CJ contact - the affiliates did not get paid. So nice try.
