eBay has fired me again

Well as you may know my domain Bargain Finds One Bay is starting to heat up and I am attracting alot of negitive attention from ebay lately I again recieved a email telling me they are cancling my affiliate program " AGAIN " the funny thing is they already cancled my eBay Us cj program however they are so angry with me for ranking " register for ebay " directly under me they are encouraging me to sign up for the program so they can once again fire me.

I guess they shouldn't of started the pissing contest with me in the first place and cancled my affiliate program stating " We don't wish to do business with your kind " I couldn't believe that comment as it made me furious. So as the domain grows I will keep collecting my beer money from google adsense and hope to retire on amazon soon.

I can't believe they fired me twice and I am not even working their. Next someone will call me up asking to hire me just so they can fire me again. Gotta love eBay management their right out their.

Ebay is a trademanrk and you know the pitfalls of registering a trademark domain.

If you do things that are against their policies and terms and conditions you know that you are playing a risky game.

You couldnt convince me that "Bargain Finds One Bay" wasnt "Bargain Finds On eBay" and apparently eBay wasn't that stupid either.

Yes Dc,, just because you move a few letters round in the url dosent instantly mean that ebay have become stupid.

On an evil note (I can't resist that now and again):

It may be worth it to walk the fine line and (almost) misuse a trademark by building a mock or parody website. Especially if it takes little effort. For all you know they might want to settle to quickly get rid of you. Takes a lot of bluffing though, and a bit of knowledge of the law

Yes I am sure that there have been a few mistaken clicks trying to reply. Everyones always looking for some kind of edge.

Does this imply that you are trying to outrank them for a given term out of spite? It would seem to me there is more to this story.

I am not trying to make any $$$ from ebay affiliate programs. They cancled my ebay affiliate program without warning mid way through a 9 thousand dollar adwords campaign.

Guess the rest yourself. lol


I would love to rank for the term " eBay " yet I guess its not in the cards, BTW I emailed them how I can't control how google ranks terms , take it up with them.


So far they just like to threaten me once and a while so far I just grin and remind them of my Trademark Bargain Finds ONE Bay and I guess my parody logo is next since they are uping their idle threats to me of late it seems I guess.

What kind of affiliate program kills you without warning with the reason . " we don't approve of your traffic " along those lines. Tis but a long story ebay US is the only program that hates me , I have developed a following with the affiliate managers on ebay.ca and the rest lol I believe secretly their all routing for me. I don't think the UK manager is much fond of their us counterpart " just a hunch " but I digress. it would be nice to rank eBay but I don't have the slightest clue how to rank terms. I wish I did, by joe I would just out of spite.

Any ideas for a parody logo for my site guys? I would love some suggestions ! lol

If you really want to make them mad, send the traffic to Overstock or Amazon. Vote with your dollar.

As Jason indicated, and I agree, eBay exercised its rights...I would have too. Every site that used my copyright would get shot with the lawyer cannon. Just business.

Theirs no infringement I have my trademark, they have theirs.

I understand their standpoint, but at least you've done your best to stay on the "legal" side of the fine line. Note that I'm talking about the method and your persistent use of "One Bay" here - regardless of your intentions (LOL).

In fairness DC I could essentially register goooogle.com and say it was the phrase "Go ooogle", ooogle being a racehorse's name or something..i dunno.

Regardless they would still threaten to sue your a$$ for dilution of brandname. And they would prob get away with it also.

If I were you I'd focus on promoting your business more rather than fighting against the big boys because it aint going to put any money into your pocket - and thats what you've got the site for in the first place anyways - isnt it?

Copyright litigation often has to deal with intent. The intent was fairly obvious...eBay would win, hands down.

The domain is moving to camera-reviews.net in less than 2 months anyway they should get their panties out of a bunch anyway it doesn't matter to me either way I am not worried about it.

Americans..... rolls eyes their so superior to us canadians and anyone else not " american " however its alright for the US to import our brain power isn't it. Good thing americans have more money than brains.

Let me just say that I'm glad Digital-Camera is banned. With his abuse of the negative points given to people for no reason in almost 100 different places for no reason, especially in this thread and the pr update thread going on.
