EBay Changes....

Have you noticed reversals of your eBay sales/leads recently at CJ.com? I think this is in violation of CJ.com contract language. Here is there new policy, summarized by a customer service rep:

This is a new eBay policy that they will now be doing reversals. eBay works with three networks (including us). Sometimes a user will click on your link and then a link from another network, they will then complete a transaction. This means that there is a cookie from two networks on that users machine and both will get credited for the same transaction. eBay used to just pay both commissions, however, they have now decided just to pay the commission to the person who last referred the user and reverse the commission for the other affiliate. This is what is happening with your reversals.

This was my reply:

I would like this response to be an official complaint about CJ allowing eBay to proceed in sales reversals, as above referenced. According to the publisher agreement, publishers are allowed to enter into sub-agreements with CJ.com advertisers through the "apply to program" function provided on your website. For eBay.com, this application includes mention that a click is defined as a referral for all three of their payout types (Buy it now, Bid, and Active Registration). It further stipulates that the referral is valid for 30 days. No where in that agreement is there any mention of reversals to accommodate a click from another referrer.

I would very much appreciate two things: an answer as to why this new policy was not better promoted on your website and also further clarification as to how CJ.com actually believes this is valid under the specific contract language presented on the advertiser eBay.com's sign up site.

ANY THOUGHTS? Want to join me in making them answer these two questions and seeing if we can change the program back to how it was?

Reply to this important post!!! I'd like your 2 cents!!!
