Different type of Affiliation; A co-promotion
We just had a very successful co-promotion with another web site. Our site represents a form of a technical school and is regional. We provide a fun class, good training and assistance in landing work. We ran a free class promoted by a regional web site business that promotes an amazing array of events within our region for people, many of whom fall within our target audience.
The co-promotion had orders for twice the capacity we could handle and sold out a week beforehand (that was unusually good for them). The class offered discounts for enrollment done quickly. We got none today but promises for a number of them within a week. We'll see.
Best of all for us we got exposure into our target demographic by a site with a lot more/broader exposure than our narrow field allows. The other site mentions it has about 40-50,000 members.
We both earned a little from the demonstration class. That is their business and they run on the average several events every week. For us it was dramatic exposure...essentially like finding dramatic new keywords that draw traffic into our topic.
The other site has already scheduled with us to do another such session next month. They were very pleased and so are we. We had 4-7 verbal expressions of interest. If we get one such enrollment we'll be pleased...everything else is gravy.
Anybody else have experiences like this that they would be willing to share.
