When choosing your affiliate programs there are several things to look for. Here are a couple of points that have help me INCREASE my income, not just show one.
1- Make sure
YOU would buy the product or service.
If you go to the website and don't get a good feel, why would you expect others to do the same. Make sure the site sells a quality product or service. If you can brag about it, it is worth promoting. Good example of a quality site:
Bass Pro
Clean, well known and aggressive pricing.
2- Cookie life.
This is often over looked.
If I am looking at two programs that are very similar in offerings, I will always chose the one that has the longer cookie life.
I have seen a HUGE difference with sites that offer long term or even lifetime cookies. Many people do not buy on the first visit.
I know that
CJ posts the cookie life.
3- Multi Tier
Build your earnings by not
only by sales, but through other webmasters. You might have to do a little searching but most industries have a few programs. Example:
SoccerU they offer three tiers with lifetime cookies.
4- Don't pay to join.
If you have to pay to join, it is usually NOT an affiliate program, but a MLM program. Example:
50kamonth I think their fees can get up into the high $100's and even over $1000.
When all is said and done, you should feel GOOD about what you are promoting and believe it is good product.
