Burned by Amazon.com - Attn: non-us assocaites

Ok so I wasn't burned but still worth noting my problem for the sake of others.

I'm not a US citizen, so I decide to take amazon's gift certificate option for payment rather than wait to accumulate 100usd. Reason? They only pay quarterly so it would be an 8 month wait, plus I could buy something from amazon........ Well I'm under the assumption I could buy from Amazon,and that all Amazon's are connected..... amazon.ca, amazon.com, etc. Turns out they're not. If you receive a gift certificate from one, you can't, CANNOT, use it on the other. Meaning all affiliates with amazon.com CAN"t use their certificates with amazon.ca, or any other. This is a pain since you loose so much of the great amazon deals through shipping, etc.

Basically if you want to sell to your consumers, i.e. cell phones, but it's only available in the States, you have to go with Amazon.com, but you're only paid in .com gift certificates. If you want amazon.ca certificates, then you join a SEPARATE associate program. Sounds inefficient? It surely is. Sorry if this is repeat or was apparent to others when signing up, it wasn't to me and I found out the hard way.....haha..


So does anyone want to buy a gift certificate at a discount? 40 bucks?! going once, going twice.....
