Question Am I being treated fairly?

I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to web development, but a few months ago I launched handbagsonmelrose.com. Traffic is averaging about 100 unique visits/day, but I'm lucky to make 3 sales/month totalling a whole 15 bucks in commission. Google doesn't like my site, but Yahoo sends me a lot of traffic. If anybody could help explain what is or isn't wrong here, I would be deeply grateful.
Thanks for your feedback

perhaps the mods could append the title of this post to 'taken advantage of' or 'hogtied' or 'unfairly treated' - I think the current choice of words is somewhat inappropriate.

alib - no offense.

From what you post you are getting 3000 unique visits per month and 3 sales. That is a conversion rate of 0.1%. This is rather low if you are getting highly qualified traffic but could be about right if you are getting unqualified traffic.

First... Examine your traffic and see if they are coming into your site from relevant search terms. If this is search engine traffic on relevant terms then the problem most likely is that you need to study up on effective landing pages or get a pro to help you. Perhaps the shopping cart is not working well or your security is turned up too high. A good study source is the book Don't Make Me Think.

Second... Spend some time searching these forums and learning what the limitations are for new sites in google.

Third... How competetive are you on price, selection, quality, shipping rates and speed of delivery.

Last... Assume responsibility for the performance of your site or understanding why it is performing or why not. Most successful people who post here didn't make their first hundred bucks for quite some time. Hard work, study, testing and patience is what it takes. If you post decent and specific questions here people will be much more willing to help you.

It is going to be very difficult competing against established websites and brick/mortar operations, especially when you can't offer customer service, returns, phone support, etc. I would imagine that this will be your busiest time of the year.

If I understand you are using AdSense, and if so, in breach of your Adsense Contract.

Is this correct?

I clicked on a buy now button for a burberry bag and was sent to ClixGalore where I received the message - "Unfortunately we cannot redirect you to the website requested. It is most likely that the Merchant is geographically targeting and filtering the customers / traffic received at their website. The source of this click has been filtered out. The program may also be inactive or have a low balance." things like this can be a reason for not making sales.

Does Google's rules say you can't tell people how many visitors you get or how many sales you get? I didn't think so!

:::Yahoo sends me a lot of traffic.

So who cares if he's using AdSense. Not all the traffic comes from Google.

You had better think so. In Google's Terms & Conditions, Paragraph 7 "You agree not to disclose Google Confidential Information without Google's prior written consent... (b) click-through rates or other statistics relating to Site performance in the Program provided to You by Google."

i think the adsense argument is a moot point, since i don't see any adsense ads anywhere on the site. so how 'bout we drop it and let alib69 disclose anything he/she wants.

the direct approach...

First, well, Merry Christmas to everyone! Thanks so much for all the responses.

To get a little more specific, we're currently getting 4-5 % click-through rate and 700 impressions per week on our site. Essentially, a viewer has to go to a specific product page and click on a "buy now" button in order to be redirected to the affliate site. We have VERY high rankings on Yahoo. On some days, we're getting up to 100 unique visitors. Nonetheless, we have only made $5 in the last 2 months. Has anyone else had negative experience with Clixgalore?

Thanks again.

You might just want to think about another product line!
