Affiliation marketing popularity - Europe vs US

Hi all,

Thanks for a very valueable information.

It's nice to be here. My name is Assaf and I'm into web-marketing for few years now, mainly into affiliation marketing.

I was working mainly in the US market, and now I'm doing my first steps in Europe - mainly Germany, UK and Denmark. I've found

that the language is usually isn't the barrier, and I wondered - has anyone experienced affiliation marketing in Uk, Germany or

DK, and can provide me some tips? I'm mainly concerned with were to begin..

I'll be glad to hear your 2c on these issues:

Is affiliation marketing in Europe is as strong as it is in US?

Does anyone knows how %% of the searches in Google.DE, for example , are being carried in English and how much in German?

What search engines are most popular in Germany, UK and Denmark?

Thanks a lot in advance!
With respect,
Assaf.

Hey,

I can't help you much, but as a SEO I have a customer targeting Germany and Austria, and secondary the whole EU space.

The search enige of choice is definitely Google, then far far away Google. MSN is rarely used.

Affiliate marketing is a running business in EU, however, speaking in percents the market surely 10% - 20% lower than US.

I would recommend you check out http://www.a4uforum.co.uk/ if you planning on targeting the UK market. There is some good advice on that forum.
