Affiliate Marketing vs. SEO/Internet Marketing Company

    Hi,

Should I go for Affiliate Marketing or an SEO/Internet Marketing Company

I have found a really good Affiliate Program that falls within my budget.

However, before finding them, I was on the verge of commissioning and SEO company and I am now unsure which route to take because I can only afford to do one; SEO or Affiliate.

The information on the website of the Affiliate Scheme is very clear and seems to offer lots of benefits (i.e you only pay affiliates that generate you sales and the affiliates are usually quality inbound links)

However, I have no previous experience of the pros and cons of Affiliate Program vs. SEO Companies.

If I were to assume that both the SEO and Affiliate options were reputable companies/schemes (not cowboys), which should I consider first?

    Thanks

    James

Affiliate scheme will work well if you have a product with good potential for online sales. The best thing about aff program is that ther eis not much investment. You pay only a fraction of your profits.

SEO is going to be even betetr, long term. make sure that you find the right people and have real targets to meet, like treaching top 3 in x months time and pay only if you do so.

SEO takes a lot time, its harder, but generates more in the long term, but it can colapse either. AFF markt can bring results faster and doesnt need such an investment of time and money.

Website content is, or should be, at the very heart of virtually all forms of online marketing. Whether you are embarking upon an SEO campaign for an e-commerce site consisting of thousands of pages or you want to create your own blog about something that really interests you and make a few pounds along the way, attracting readers or visitors is important and your website content is the heart of all this.

    Hi,

For me is SEO. Most possible your sales will come from a SEOed affiliate page. You just give away money with affiliate programs. I suggest you to dominate your niche on Google and after launch affiliate program. Maybe they find a way to promote you which you didnt notice.

If your product is in demand and you have good conversion rate, SEO and Affiliate Mktg, both are same.

Compare to affiliate marketing i think SEO is good and gives better result then the affiliate marketing. The result provided by SEO will stands for long time and by using SEO you can get larger amount of profit then the affiliate scheme. But it depends on the SEO person who you choose. So try to choose the right SEO professional to maintain your site.

    A valid point.

Channel conflicts are a huge problem for the owner of the affiliate program.

If you plan to have your own website promoted in search engines you need to prevent affiliated companies from doing the same thing (organically in Google at least)

I had one customer that blossomed his revenue with 500 website affiliates and when the last PANDA came out his traffic from Google dropped to a trickle and so did sales from his affiliates because 500 domains all selling the identical products EVEN with original pages of content - to Google is SPUN content.

    What do you expect?

Get rid of channel conflicts - has one affiliate doing newspaper ads, another doing PPC, another doing TV, another on radio, another in industry journals and magazines, another doing billboards, another do bus & taxi ads.

500 doing precisely the same thing as you is absolute failure (eventually).
