Adsense??? Where have I been???
I have had a number of sites up for the last few years but I have only just discovered adsense.
I added the code and am now earning $800 a week.
I have always optimised for sales but now I am targeting visiters. I think it will be easier to increase visiters rather than sales.
I have plans to revamp all my sites and get rid of the hassle of customers.
Without such a high turnover on sales I will be able to ditch VAT. (17.5 % sales tax for those abroad) which is a pain and affects my other non-internet business.

That is really great. AdSense gives us all a piece of the advertising revenue. I give a lot of credit to Google for opening this avenue to us. Enjoy it while you can.

Speedie - If you had profitable Non-AdSense sites be careful not to completely sacrifice them for AdSense earnings as if your AdSense earnings drop it will be quite difficult to build those other sales back up.
A good mix of the two will mean you can whether any storm that may present itself.

I guess this will over some day when there are too many publishers and much less advertisers, lol
That just means more & cheaper ads for us affiliate marketers!
Adsense is great but it can draw a potential customer a way from your website's sales page... I'd be careful.
Although if you build solely for the purpose of advertising then you'll do ok... but beware, visitors don't return to websites that exist only to advertise... go figure, but those annoying web visitors are actually looking for free content!

Are you insinuating that G is going to stop allowing third party sites to publish adsense? That would be a huge loss to their bottom dollar.....and with MSN and Yahoo entering the PPC arena, I just can't see this happening. Changes in the future - absolutely, but certainly not an end to program

"Enjoy it while you can"... means we get a good cut right now of the advertising dollar from AdWords. As the number of sites utilizing AdSense expands there may be a drop in CTR. As the CTR drops and the number of outlets/pages expands for Google, our total compensation may drop.
As Yahoo and MSN expand their AdWords programs the competition may cause the amount of ad dollars going to Google to drop, thereby causing Google to reassess their payout to us.
I hope it is only upwards for us all, but, if not... enjoy it while you can.
