Adsense rejection blues...
Hi All,
I just submitted a site to Google AdSense's program, and it got rejected because of 'page type', the blurb from them is - Page type: Your website is a type of website that we do not currently accept into our program. Such websites include, but are not limited to, chat sites, sites that drive traffic through cybersquatting, and sites that use excessive keywords in the content or code of their pages. The site is http://www.eyeballalaska.com ... just a small directory, it's actually totally dynamic, although made to look like static pages. Can somebody tell me if sites are reviewed by a person at Google? What is likely to be the underlying reason it was rejected? Is it because I identified it as a 'search' site - although it's not really a search engine. I'm wondering if I change the logo to exclude the word search and then resubmit it, whether that maybe enough to be accepted. Andy. |

It still wouldn't be accepted. You would have a much better chance if you added some content.
I have to admit that I didn't really see anything that would tell me this is a site for visitors |

I second that. You'll need to add content and radically change the design if you want it to look like a site that's actually made for visitors. As it is now, it looks like just another spam directory.

The content seems to be take from a search engine... ummm google hates this with a passion...
I'd start the site again..

Okay, thanks for the feedback. You are correct - the links are automatically generated from a search string associated with each category. The whole site is created is created from a single XML file that defines the categories, sub-categories, and the search terms associated with category. So on the plus side it takes very little time to build a site, but I guess if it's worthless in terms of advertising potential then the application is also worthless... another application for the archive directory. Andy. |

If you have a different site that has more content etc. you can always apply for AdSense using that page and then once you have your account put AdSense ads on this directory of yours. That might be a bit grey'ish in terms of hats but its not like some deep dark secret.

If the precedent of rejection has already been set what will happen is when you get to your first check, it will trigger a human review and you won't get paid a cent. You will also have very little chance of getting back into AdSense. Its more dumb than black hat. You would probably have better luck with Clicksor or other alternate PPC. |

yep - this is most definitely a scraper (maybe a non-traditional scraper, but a scraper nontheless)
absolutely no unique content and not even a 'submit site' button to make it appear as a directory. advice - create a REAL website (as in not autogenerated) and maybe re-apply for the program. if you're still denied you might need to use someone elses' name, or register a business.
