It's fairly new, and google doesn't allow you to disclose details. So who's tried / trying it?
You're allowed to run affiliate links alongside. https://www.google.com/adsense/overview There has been positive feedback that I've already seen, and the word is that it'll close down weak affiliate programs. Anyone griping about google lately might change their minds when they realize that they could be scoring highly in google's free searches and then taking money from google for displaying relevant ads. Hmmm.... this should get interesting. ![]() |

i'm using it on one of my sites.... and i love it!!!
it's making me enough money to pay for hosting all my other sites! like $5 USD a day. so, i'm not getting rich... but for 1 content based site i'm very very happy with it. |

thanks for sharing that ilili...
in the advertising for this program they were unclear about how much you would earn. it seems that you are able to track you commissions. are they paying by the click or a percentage or is it still the mystry that they advertised. I don't want to go into something unless they are clear about how you will be paid. |

Hey Illi it's still $2000 p.a. extra at $5 a day...so perhaps it's not a bad thing.
Google won't tell you how much you'll earn and with bid prices fluctuating all the time you can see why. As far as I know the ads that appear to each user on your site also change with the users i.p. adress. So a user from India will get to see different ads to a user from USA and the cost per click will vary accordingly. I expect google can only estimate their own revenue from their own program and that's another reason why they won't quote figures for other people. Even so, many webmasters are saying they are earning more by showing google ads than by affiliate programs they are promoting and therefore low performing affiliate programs will start to die out. It's all a question of knowing your own conversion rates etc.. as to wether you'll do better with adsense than affiliate programs. I also think it will be easier to optimise content sites to fit google adsense than to fit affiliate priograms. Any more thoughts? |

theres not even an idea for a ctr. it depends on placement.. if its the horizontal banner on the footer.. it wont be near as much as the vertical along the right side..

I feel the same way, but I have nothing to lose. I just started the program on my site. I'll let you know what I find out. Once you have signed up there is absolutely no information about what kind of cut they give you for your traffic. The interface is very primative. The most control you have over the ads is a ban list for ads you don't want appearing. I'm going to watch the PayPer Click prices to try to see what percentage I am getting in return for particular phrases. Google must be afraid of getting very trashy traffic from their AdSense clients by fraud or otherwise considering they make no promises about what they'll pay you. I did note that it picks the relevant ads to show after spidering your site. If your site is not yet spidered, it says it will happen in a few hours. Any chance these spidered pages get added to the google datacenters for regular searches? |

I wonder if it's worth buying very low bid ppc traffic and converting it into adsense revenue.

I've had it working on 3 sites for the last 10 days or so and I'm very happy with the revenue it provides. This is really going to shake up the PPC affiliate market. Although I believe they still have a lot to work on regarding the stats they give you.
There's a good overview of the program here. Gringo. |

Gringo said it right. A lot of stats work to be done, as in none currently exist! I'm getting just over $5 a day. Averaging 20cents per click. My keywords are all related to instant messaging, so I wouldn't expect much anyway. It's a great program and I'm already amazed. No one should hesitate to give it a shot unless it really clutters up your pages or conflicts with your desired flow of traffic. The clicks total updates about every 10 minutes, so it only takes an hour to see that it's really going.

They don't publish the percentage or tell you. I have been averging 20cents if that helps at all. I have heard some clicks get as good as 8 dollars though.

Blarg!!!! I've got about 567,150 impressions, 400 clicks making about 8-9 cents a click.

Nintendo,
Don't feel bad. People click my adSense because it's easier than hitting the back button. Maybe you just have quality pages people don't want to leave. |
