Adsense images next to the ads

Hi,
I recently read again the Adsense Policies, and I read:

"Publishers participating in the AdSense program:

May not direct user attention to the ads via arrows or other graphical gimmicks
May not place misleading images alongside individual ads "

So the tactic to place images close to the ads is now forbidden? Are there exceptions that you know? Is it forbidden even when the images seems to be more part of the website instead of part of the ad? what is exactly misleading?

As far as I know it is allowed as long as you seperate the ads from the picute by a line. Not allowed is to make the user believe the pictures belong to the ads or the ads being some kind of description or link of the picture.

Edit: I tested it with a picture above the ads and the CTR is absolutly amazing...

If the image appears to be drawing attention to the add yes it is against rules. A menu image next to the ads would probably be no problem although Google wants the ads somewhat separated. The traditional way of making an adsense ad look like a link/listing with a image is not allowed.
