.7% is quite low. You should work on increasing this to increase profits. Mine ranges between 4- 6% and I am working on taking that up. The key is in the layout and how you place your ads. Another point to consider is the content. It shouldn't be 'no good' as that would be difficult to rank for. On the other hand it shouldn't give the reader everything he is looking for. It should be good but not excellent. He should have a need for something more which would prompt him to click on the ads.
Hope this helps. |

It depends on what the subject of your site is. For example, if you have a gaming site, people come there to play games not click ads.
Contrary to popular belief, Adsense is not the right monetization for every website. You have to compare apples to apples to determine if your CTR is right for your site. TxDon |

Also - looking closely at the ads you currently have and if they don't really match your content use your competitor filter to get rid of them so more appropriate ads can be displayed.

try different ad. formats (banners, link units...) and check your earnings... but, first of all, i dont see enough traffic in free-guitar-notes.com even to experiment a few things.. try all variations in any one of the site in which you get adequate traffic.

Careful guys, it's against the TOS to post CTR and talk about it.
CTR will depend on the placement of your ads and the density of your ads / content ratio. |

Different niches will perform differently with adsense. For instance niches targeted at women(general), kids seem to overall perform really well. This is probably due to the fact that many of them don't know there ads

As a guitarist myself I can tell you I have visited nearly every website out there which appeared to have music for guitar I never click ads on these sites, I am there for music, I highly doubt anybody will pay for a PPC ad to give me free music and I only pay for offline music or music sites, never for individual music pieces. So that is why I don't click these ads. Try going affiliate, offer affiliate ads for guitar courses, guitar accessories maybe. I have clicked those types of ads and they perform much better on these types of sites than adsense will.
