Adsense Alternatives
So I run a video game site that's exploding in visits. Trouble is, I'm getting great CTR but the ads are worth less than 5 cents each. I'm looking for alternatives. I can't sign up for Yahoo publishers because IM" not a US citizen.... Does MSN have a 'adsense' program, if so what's the name? Any help would be appreciated.

With less than 5 cents a click maybe a good affiliate partnership would prove more profitable for you. Most of the adsense alternatives are no alternative, Yahoo may change that when they're fully up and running.

Video Game Adsense Revenue TERRIBLE
I'm using some other methods income generation. I didin't think there was a legit alternative to Adsense which is too bad, I'd jump ship in a heartbeat in hopes that the alternative would have something better than the junk I'm making.... Bad industry to get into if you're just using Adsense.

The alternatives are only good if they have a lot of advertisers in you niche, the ones I've looked at don't so the ads are bottom dollar and non-related so they would get a lower CTR that adsense.

You might be better off charging for advertising or get into an affiliate program that sells games, I did the same kind of thing, used adsense on a games site... 18 clicks and 37 cents later..
I'm going to try and think up some cross advertising and just use commission junction. |

Adsense alternative
I found contextweb.com. Works just like Adsense, I'm testing it ofr almost 24hrs and so far it's looking good and the click through rate is much higher than I had with Google.

I am starting to experiment with Comission Junction on my Power Tool web site. Ebay (which uses CJ) has some really cool contextual tools that I just started using.

Well have you tried other types of ads instead og contextual.
If you have high pageviews then you can display banners on your site and you will get paid everytime a ad is viewed (CPM) The only reason i suggested this was that currently google adsense seems to be the best contextual advertising program currently out there. But Yahoo seems to gaining some credits but we will have to wait and see what happens when it comes out of beta stages. Good Luck |

I am having the same questions, looking for an advertiser other than google.
I just signed up with CJ but I am not sure that they are what I am looking for. Last edited by ozmeb : October 21st, 2005 at 06:23 AM. Reason: wrong thread LOL |
