Adsense "Advertise on this site"

Google has launched and made live their recent addition the the plethora of innovations. People can now bid directly from the publishers site to have their ad appear on that particular web site. Interesting to see if there will be an increase or decrease in publisher revenue

I think that good quality sites, even if they are not big, can get a reward out of this situation.
It depends a lot by the webmasters' choises, but I think that a little, but good quality site, well positioned in a particular niche, can raise their revenue.
By the other side, I think that if this soluction will attract a lot of webmasters, this will decrease the revenue of sites with little or no unique content.

Big sites will ever win. And naturally, we have to see the system at work for a while before we can make estimates.

But is this already live? I don't see "advertise here" links on my ads?

Yes its live. Check again. It should be at the bottom of the ad box, depending on which version you are using. If you can't see it check your settings in your adsense account. You might have disabled it.

For my ads they appear off and one. On some ads it appears, refresh it a few times and its gone.

IMO this is a very positive development. It allows advertisers to have control over where their ads are shown. If you run your logs you can see where your traffic is coming from and use this to focus on a much tighter and more relevant group of sites.

If you are a publisher of high quality content with good exposure then this gives you the opportunity to attract many bidders. A real reward for you if this happens.

I like this new feature.

I find the extra text distracting. I think that it works a against the "blend the ads into the background" concept.

I think the mixing of CPM rates and CPC will give you the highest possible total income. CPM ads will run when the bid is high enough to outdo the average eCPM by your CPC ads.
