It might sound like werid question but my boss believes in above statment and i don't, so i would like to get your opinion.

Thanks.

You only have to apply once.

All the payments come through one interface so you must use the same code for all your sites.

There is more discussion here:

But do you not have to get all of your sites approved from Google?

Since they need to spider each page/site to make the ads relevant then the answer is yes.

From what Google posted, you do not need to go through a formal application process for each site that you want to ad the code, however, I believe that you are still bound to follow the TOS and agreement. Posting the code on sites that don't meet their criteria is probably not a good idea.

I signed up my http://www.WebMarketingEzine.com site a couple of days ago. My reading is that you can add the same code to other sites, as long as they meet the TOS.

So far I'm getting a clickthrough rate of just under 2%, with an average $1.05 per click. How are others doing?

It will be interesting to look at how these results pan out over a couple of weeks, and what impact, if any, they have on the number of page views. It would be great if they opened a new window, rather than taking the person away from your site!

Wow! that's a great clickthrough price

If they opened in a new window the pop-up blockers will kill them.

I tried adding target="_blank" to the script - didn't work.

Does anyone know how that can be coded into the script?

AdSense seems to be opening up a whole new field to learn. Obviously, to get the best clickthrough results you need to have ads served up that are most relevant to the material on the page. To a degree, you need to 'optimize' your pages for AdSense.

What effect does the domain name have on which ads are displayed? What effect does the file name have? Is it better to use hyphens between keywords, etc.

SEO'ers might like to visit http://about-adsense.com/adsense-web-tool.html Audrin and Jim Langford have produced a free AdSense Web Tool. Type in the URL of one of your pages, and the Tool will suggest the ads that are likely to be served. You can even play around with URL's that don't exist yet, to see what they are likely to produce.

About-AdSense also provide a free email mini-course, and tips on how to maximize your revenue. It's a great site run by a highly respected couple. It seems that now we can fill in even more of those wasted hours between midnight and dawn!

Does anybody know if google ads are considered as backlinks?
With the increase of sites adding adsense to their pages it would be an instant page rank booster if you were paying for ads.

No, Google ads are not considered as backlinks. To the others, careful about discussing your CTR's, beacuse it's against the Terms & Conditions (8b).

Suffice to say that the program offers excellent revenue for websites, particularly those with good content.

Gringo.

When I first looked at it I thought that there was no way I would make anything from it. However, after reading some very positive reports about CTR and EPC I decided to sign up and try it.

It works very well, and I'm more than happy with the earnings as they easily surpass some of the affiliate programs I belong to. I recommend it at the moment, but it's early days, so I'll be monitoring it closely.

How to get into AdSense

How can i get my site accepted into AdSense?

I have read and re-read TOS and as far as i know, i am following all the rules. My site is new, could that be the reason?

Also, how many times can you apply for the AdSense program?

Thanks...

Tejas

you only need one site to be accepted, you can use the same code on the other provided they meet the TOS.

Are there any "rumblings" out there about other PPC search engines getting into the game?

You can become an affiliate of almost all PPC engines, although the bigger ones (Overture, Espotting, etc.) are quite strict about who they accept. I would stick with Adsense, though - it's an excellent affiliate product.

Gringo.
