adsense?
What does page impressions mean? I have a small site, and it is new. It says I have an average of 1250 page impressions a day. That mean its been visited 1250 times a day on average?

Hey, that's some nice traffic for a new site. IMO page impressions are the same as page views.
(except in an adsense report where a page impression is actually one ad display - and sometimes they don't load)

Yes that's precisely what it is. Quote:
No it means so many pages were loaded by visitors. A visitor may look at more than one page with an ad, unless you have only one page with ads on the site. |

Caveats - if a user is viewing your page and presses the Refresh button, it will fetch another ad impression. Impressions <> Unique page views.
Also, AdSense is only delivered to visitors who are Javascript enabled. Folks like me (who leave Javascript off for security) will not be included in the ad impression totals when visiting your site. You should use a web statistics application to analyze your referrer logs for more accurate breakdown of your site's traffic.

This is important to know. I have a site that gets a very high number of pageviews from a small number of people each day. I always wondered why my adsense impressions were close to my server stats some days and WAY off on others. |

There are a few adsense statistics programs that can tell you some good info, like visitors, who click on what ads, etc...

I dont know anything about the statistics programs, are they easy to use? What is agood one, are they free? Also, yes I do have ads on every page, but with that many page impressions, I have only brought in a little over 2 bucks, so I guess nobody is clicking, correct?

Most likely, your web host provides some sort of stats program in your hosting plan. If not, you will need to ask them how to access your server logs. Be sure to ask them to make sure that referrer tracking is enabled - some web hosts only capture minimum data (to save disk space) unless clients ask for the whole enchilada.
There are many programs you can use to analyze your server/referrer logs (awstats, funnel web, urchin, etc...). Some are free and some cost money. They all do basically the same thing although the presentation varies dramatically. |

Perhaps the best Adsense tracking program I've used (I've used over 5 of them in the past) has to be Asrep.com. Check them out, and thank me later. ;) |
