Please, please, please do some reading and studying on your subjects before asking questions. Your questions are too broad and general. They would take forever to answer in any detail.

There are lots of people who make tons of money from adsense; but as previously said the subject is too general to can be discuss in a forum thread. Try to ask more specific questions.

Put them on your site and experiment with placement, colors, etc.

Then start studying as you experiment.

Google make millions with the adsence program so i do think it can get you tons of money, as Egol had point you need to experiment with them, but the most important thing you need to do is try to think like a person on your website and if you want to make good money with your ads you need to try to fool them in order to make them click on your website (thats is if you are making a website to get money from ads).

There is tons of articles about this, about what colors, and how you can put them in order to get more people to click them. I got friends that get good money with them...

Tips

-The best thing you can do is try to get you traffic main interest and analize them and put ads that matches those interest and that can give you more traffic.

-You can use colors that matches your website theme this way the people will think that this ads are some part of the website and the may click them

-Put them in between a article. When people is reading a article they will see a ad in the midle of it and i had seen that people seem more interest on clicking it than on regular ads that are place on the top.

Just beware, Google is very unforgiving when it comes to invalid clicks - I'm still fighting to get back on the program after someone (the IP is Malaysia based) went and clicked all over my pages, and did so for four consecutive days.

And that is my biggest worry - You might get loads of traffic from various sources, but devious competition might get you banned. Other programs pay less, but they adjust without actually ban you - which in my view is better.

Saying this, I understand why Google do this, since I'm also an Adword user, and I had clicks from the same series of IP's over several months - and these are constant.

Please read the TOS and policy carefully.
A lot of people dont and they end up banned from the program.

The major source of getting money from adsense is drive a good amount of traffic first. Then the result follows.
